This volume celebrates the bicentenary of the publication of Jane Austens Pride and Prejudice, offering its reader multi- and inter-disciplinary critical essays which encompass literary criticism, analyses of the original novel as well as its postcolonial re-reading and re-writing in various forms, its cinematographic adaptations and translations, and its critical and public response throughout the years. The collection is introduced by Janet Todd and closes with a previously unpublished interview with Dario Marianelli, the films composer of Joe Wrights Pride & Prejudice (2005).
